Your Ideas Matter

Your Ideas Matter, so write them down. Your life matters, so live it.
You are feeling a little insecure or like people don't give a shit about what you think or what you have to say? I would think there are a good many people who don't. And that's ok. Who needs so many people listening anyway. Especially if they are paying you lip service, those few, those precious few that care. Who cares about your ideas and your thoughts and your feelings. Those are the people that you want to speak to! Those are the people that matter.
Those are the people we are talking about when we say, "do work that matters for people who care!" Our Tribe.
I have struggled with this for quite some time. Thinking that I had nothing to say, and if I did would anyone care. But that's not true; we all matter just as our ideas do. It's our fragile ego. It does not want to get bruised. Or to expose ourselves to the non-believers, the haters who criticize everything anyone says so that they can feel better about themselves.
We need to toughen up just a little bit and realize they aren't speaking to you when they are critical they are talking to and for themselves. These people are not your Tribe and not the people that you are sharing your ideas with. Those people don't matter. At least not to you.
People out there need and want to hear what you have to say once you realize that, whether you are apprehensive or not. Scared of what the feedback will be if any. Just press SEND or PUBLISH.
That was me not too long ago. I would write blogs, articles, emails and let them sit there. Too afraid of sending and exposing my vulnerabilities to the world. After all, everyone is not friendly. We live in a world where people can be cruel behind a screen. Then there will be those who disagree with what you have to say. That is fine. Have that discussion talk about opposing ideas. Those are the conversations that you want to have. Those are the conversations that you learn from. Learn about other people and the way they think. Have those conversations Not to Convince but to Understand. That is the key right there. Not to Convince but to Understand. Have an inquiring mind. Then conversations will be civil.

Your Ideas Matter; write them down and share them with the world. Your ideas can help someone else out there. Someone you never met. Ideas are powerful. It is a selfish act to keep them to yourself. No matter how silly you might think they are. You don't want to have regrets when this journey is over. So share your ideas, even if only with one other person.

Share them with me. I'm listening.
